Заместитель начальника Генштаба вооруженных сил РФ генерал-полковник Василий Смирнов 30 сентября рассказал, что осенний призыв начинается с 1 октября и продлится до 31 декабря.
Осенью 2011 года солдатами станут 135 тысяч 850 молодых людей. Это в два раза меньше, чем было призвано год назад. В осенний призыв 2010 года в армию призвали 270 тыс. человек, в весенний призыв 2011 года — более 218 тыс. человек.
