Сегодня, 22 декабря, президент России Дмитрий Медведев обратился с ежегодным Посланием к Федеральному Собранию. В президентском Послании одним из безусловных приоритетов является продолжение военной реформы и переход к профессиональной армии.

 

При этом было в очередной раз подчёркнуто, что в военной реформе ключевыми вопросами являются существенное перевооружение, совершенствование принципов комплектования и улучшение самой структуры Вооруженных Сил. В частности президент отметил, что Вооружённые силы России пополнились новым видом – созданы высокотехнологичные войска воздушно-космической обороны.

 

Идёт процесс сокращения численного состава армии и флота – с 2010 года Вооружённые силы насчитывают 1 миллион человек. Армия постепенно переходит на контрактную основу.
