Два стратегических ракетоносца Ту-95МС командования Дальней авиации с авиабазы Энгельс успешно выполнили семнадцатичасовой полет на воздушное патрулирование над акваторией Северного моря. Полет прошел в штатном режиме. Во время полета экипажи Ту-95МС отработали навыки ведения полетов над безориентирной местностью, а также выполнили дозаправку в воздухе от 2 самолетов-топливозаправщиков Ил-78.

 

В состав экипажей Дальней авиации, привлекаемых к патрулированию, включаются и молодые авиационные специалисты, которые получают навыки работы в летной команде и бесценный опыт подобных полетов. На отдельных участках полетного маршрута российские самолеты неоднократно сопровождались самолётами EF-2000 "Тайфун" и F-16 "Файтинг фалкон" ВВС Великобритании, Нидерландов и Дании.
