Штурмовая винтовка CQ (альтернативное обозначение в каталогах компании NORINCO - M311) является достаточно точной копией американской винтовки M16A1, выпускаемой в Китае на экспорт (естественно,безо всяких лицензий). Выпуск винтовки CQ был налажен в восьмидесятых годах прошлого века, причем выпускались как армейские варианты, имеющие возможность ведения огня очередями, так и "гражданские" версии, стреляющие только одиночными выстрелами. Недавно на базе винтовки CQ был разработан карабин, являющийся прямым аналогом американского карабина M4A1.
Поустройству винтовка CQ полностью повторяет M16A1, имея такой же "прямой" газоотводный механизм без газового поршня, такой же поворотный затвор и аналогичную "переламывающуюся" ствольную коробку из алюминиевого сплава. Незначительные отличия имеются только в форме цевья, пистолетной рукоятки и приклада винтовки.
