Пистолеты Thunder-380 выпускаются в Аргентине компанией Bersa S.A, параллельно с линейкой более мощных пистолетов Thunder 9 / Thunder 40. Пистолеты Thunder-380 пользуются определенной популярностью как гражданское оружие самообороны, они отличаются хорошей надежностью, неплохой эргономикой, и продаются значительно дешевле, чем аналогичные пистолеты, выпущенные в Европе или США.
Пистолеты Bersa Thunder-380 построены на основе автоматики со свободным затвором. Возвратная пружина расположена вокруг ствола. Ударно-спусковой механизм (УСМ) двойного действия, самовзводный, с открытым курком. Рычажок предохранителя расположен на левой стороне затвора, при включении предохранителя происходит автоматический спуск курка с боевого взвода, затем запираются затвор и шептало. Магазины однорядные, пистолеты в вариантах Thunder-380 Deluxe оснащаются удлиненными магазинами на 9 патронов калибра 9х17.
