Первый испытательный пуск новой межконтинентальной баллистической ракеты, который был осуществлен во вторник, 27 сентября 2011 г., с космодрома Плесецк, потерпел неудачу. Как сообщает агентство РИА Новости, ракета, не достигнув цели, упала на территории космодрома. Во время неудачного пуска ракеты никто не пострадал, разрушений не было.
За испытаниями новой ракеты наблюдали представители ОПК, в числе которых были и специалисты Московского института теплотехники (МИТ) — главного российского разработчика твердотопливных баллистических ракет «Тополь-М», «Ярс» и «Булава».
