В период с 28 сентября по 1 октября начальник Генерального штаба Вооруженных Сил Российской Федерации — первый заместитель Министра обороны России генерал армии Николай Макаров совершит рабочую поездку в Соединенные Штаты Америки, - сообщается пресс-службой Минобороны РФ.
29 сентября в Нью-Йорке генерал армии Николай Макаров примет участие в заседании Военно-штабного комитета Совета безопасности ООН, где выступит с докладом о ходе реформирования Вооруженных Сил России. Следует напомнить, что Военно-Штабной Комитет (ВШК) — вспомогательный орган Совета Безопасности ООН, создание которого предусмотрено в статье 47 Устава ООН. В состав ВШК входят Начальники Штабов постоянных членов Совета Безопасности или их представители.
