Сегодня утром телекоммуникационный спутник "КветцСат-1 выведен на переходную орбиту после запуска в четверг с космодрома Байконур ракеты-носителя "Протон-М" с разгонным блоком "Бриз-М". "Старт ракеты-носителя "Протон-М" с разгонным блоком "Бриз-М" состоялся в 22:32 мск, а отделение разгонного блока "Бриз-М" - 22:41 мск, - уточнили в пресс-службе Федерального космического агентства. - Телекоммуникационный спутник "КветцСат-1" выведен на переходную орбиту в 07:45 мск". Запуск осуществлён в интересах одного из крупнейших мировых поставщиков телекоммуникационных услуг - корпорации SES.
Новый спутник массой 5,5 тонны, созданный калифорнийской фирмой Space Systems, предназначен для трансляции цифрового телевещания на территорию Мексики, Северной Америки и Центральной Америки. Расчетное время службы спутника составляет 15 лет.
