Две трети учебно-тренировочных самолетов (УТС) ВВС Российской Федерации уже не в состоянии летать по причине износа и отсутствия запасных частей. В течение ближайших четырех-пяти лет самолеты L-39 чехословацкого производства, которые сегодня составляют основу парка УТС, в большинстве выйдут из строя.
Как сообщил средствам массовой информации источник в военном ведомстве, чехословацкий самолет не был включен в программу по модернизации и теперь выводится из учебных парков по причине нехватки запасных частей и своего физического старения.
Программу по модернизации L-39 не стали принимать ввиду появления Як-130. Однако, контракт на Як-130 пока "заморожен" из-за выяснения отношений между Министерством Обороны и Объединенной авиастроительной корпорацией (ОАК) о стоимости машины, поэтому срок поставки самолетов сдвигается. Тем временем, происходит постоянное списывание L-39 по причине активного расхода ресурсов машин в полетах и отсутствия при этом замены.
