На днях рядом СМИ были опубликованы любопытные статьи, посвященные тому, что на одном из последних совещаний в Генштабе Вооруженных сил России обсуждался вопрос о снятии штык-ножа с вооружения, после того, как США заявили об отказе от этого оружия. Что думают об этом российские эксперты? Являются ли данные сообщения обоснованными или это очередная погоня за сенсациями? Нужен ли на самом деле Штык-нож российской армии? С этими вопросами обратилось «Оружие России» к военным экспертам.
Основным аргументом против ножа, который крепится на дуло автомата, стала низкая вероятность использовать его в современном «цифровом» бою, пишут СМИ. Однако, при решении «оставить на вооружении», решающим стал довод, что «штык-нож остается последним доводом бойца, когда кончаются патроны». Поэтому крепление для штык-ножа включили в перечень обязательных требований к новому автомату (название ему еще не придумано), который разрабатывают взамен АК-74.
