Правительство Санкт-Петербурга присвоило «мероприятиям по реконструкции и техническому перевооружению научно-производственной базы для разработки и выпуска газотурбинных двигателей» статус стратегического городского инвестиционного проекта . По словам председателя комитета по инвестициям и стратегическим проектам Алексея Чичканова, речь идет о перемещении на общую площадку всех научных и производственных структур ОАО «Климов», проектирующего и выпускающего двигатели для вертолетов и самолетов.
Сегодня климовцы работают на трех автономных площадках, расположенных на Белоостровской, Кантемировской и Заповедной улицах. Именно на Заповедную улицу в Приморский район на участок площадью 15 гектаров и планируется перевести подразделение, располагающееся ныне в южной части Выборгского района.
