Генеральный директор ОАО «НПО «Ижевский машзавод» Максим Кузюк в беседе с обозревателем «Оружия России» Валерием Елисаветским отметил, что «Ижмаш» - единственный разработчик и производитель автоматического оружия системы Калашникова. Подтвердил, что Минобороны действительно перестало закупать АК-74.
Производство этой модели завод прекратил достаточно давно. В настоящее время Ижмаш производит автоматы АК серии «100», являющиеся «четвертым поколением» системы «Калашникова», по заказу силовых структур и спецподразделений РФ, выполняет крупные контракты по линии военно-технического сотрудничества. Сформирован обширный портфель заказов в области гражданского охотничьего и спортивного оружия.
