Командующий Воздушно-десантными войсками генерал-лейтенант Владимир Шаманов, выступая перед представителями СМИ, заявил, что в 2012 г. в войска планируется поставка современных боевых машин десанта, многоцелевых бронетранспортеров, а также новейших систем управления вооружением, средств связи и АСУ в тактическом звене.
Вместе с оснащением войск новыми современными образцами вооружения и военной техники к модификации и капитальному ремонту году запланировано около 10 % основного вооружения и техники, сообщило управление пресс-службы и информации МО РФ.
