Основной акцент экспозиции НИИ Стали – бронематериалы нового поколения. Именно они легли в основу бронежилета ВВ уникальной модульной конструкции, созданного с применением высокомодульного полиэтилена и керамики, а также самых легких в мире тканевополимерных шлемов.
Новинка института - шлем Урал, изготовленный из нового броневого сплава, который позволил снизить массу шлема почти на полкилограмма.
