БПМ-97, колесная бронированная машина для пограничных войск
История создания
В 1997 году совместно КамАЗом и МВТУ им. Баумана с использованием узлов и агрегатов серийного автомобиля повышенной проходимости КамАЗ-4326 был создан ходовой макет автомобиля «Выстрел» со стальным корпусом, позднее получивший обозначение «бронированная пограничная машина БПМ-97».
Назначение
Основным назначением автомобиля является обеспечение действий личного состава пограничных войск при выполнении широкого круга задач по охране государственной границы. Дополнительно разработчики предусмотрели возможность использования машины в вариантах штабного или патрульного автомобиля. Броневик может перевозить раненых, служить в разведке, при необходимости возить арестантов или ценности.
Конструктивные особенности
Сварной корпус от Курганмашзавода — несущий. Верхняя часть корпуса выдерживает выстрелы из крупнокалиберного 12,7-мм пулемета НСВ с дистанции

Вооружение
Вооружение монтируется во вращающейся башне. Возможна установка 14,5-мм пулемёта КПВТ или 12,7-мм пулемёта «Утёс», 30-мм гранатомёта «Пламя», противотанкового ракетного комплекса.
Состояние
БПМ-97 разработана Центром технического сотрудничества МГТУ им. Н.Э. Баумана, изготовлена на ОАО "КамАЗ".
